Todd Cantwell may be sent back out on the right-flank even though Philippe Clement pulled him off the field early against Aris.

After just 35 minutes at Ibrox, the Rangers midfielder was hooked as the team drew 1-1 with their Europa League opponents on Thursday night. Cantwell excels at number 10, as manager Clement admitted, and the Englishman did just that this afternoon, dishing out two assists in a 2-0 victory over St Mirren.

Even Cantwell acknowledged that his performance last week fell well short of expectations and that preference must be set aside for the benefit of the team.

“I know this is a better position for him (central midfield) but we need to look at the circumstances and all the injuries on the right side,” Clement stated.

“There weren’t many players accessible to us. He was one of the best players, and I remember how wonderfully he performed against Sparta Prague. He is aware of that. He continues to be available to play in the center, on the left, or on the right. We make that extremely apparent.”
