Deal nearly completed: Rangers will finish the behind-the-scenes arrival in a few days.

Rangers are just days away from signing off on the arrival of Tom Taylor as he makes the move from Brighton to Ibrox.

The Gers confirmed in a statement on their website that he will join the club from the Premier League side as Head of Performance later this month.

It comes as the Light Blues revealed that Alex Rae will be part of Philippe Clement’s backroom staff for the rest of the season alongside Stephan van der Heyden, Brian Gilmour and Colin Stewart.

Positive

The latest announcements about the management team should be seen as a real positive for Rangers as there is plenty of experience and footballing knowledge in there.

The appointment of Rae is a smart move to ensure there is someone working alongside Clement who really knows what the club is all about.

It also seems like a shrewd piece of business to bring in Taylor from Brighton after he has helped the English club record some great success in recent times.

It’s incredibly important to get the right people in place behind the scenes to work alongside Clement as it can make a huge difference to how the squad are developing on a daily basis as well as performing on matchdays.

The Belgian will be pleased to have his staff now in place as he looks to continue his excellent start to life in Glasgow as he aims to lead the Gers to silverware this season.
