Danilo and Tom Lawrence receive devastating injuries from the Rangers

Here are the most recent Rangers injury updates ahead of the Ibrox team’s home Scottish Premiership match against Dundee, as Philippe Clement suffers two more crushing blows.

The Rangers are up to 34 points after 15 games after narrowly defeating Hearts on Wednesday thanks to a first-half goal from Abdallah Sima.

They also have a match in hand over archrivals Celtic, who defeated Hibs on Wednesday. A victory over Tony Docherty’s Dundee will cut the distance between the Hoops to just five points before the latter depart for Kilmarnock on Sunday.

However, Clement’s team will have to do that amid additional injury woes that Rangers are unable to shake this season.

Injury report for Rangers ahead of Dundee match

A few weeks ago, the Ibrox treatment room seemed to be getting better, but now it seems like the catastrophic scenario is back to square one.

With the exception of the draws against Aberdeen and Aris Limasol, form hasn’t been too badly impacted lately, although Clement will be eager to see an end to Rangers’ injury problems for this campaign. What is currently known regarding the squad situation is detailed below.

News of Danilo’s injury

The Brazilian striker was forced to wear a mask after sustaining a serious facial injury against St Johnstone earlier in the season. But Danilo has already taken another hit as he throws off the protection.

At his pre-Dundee press conference today, Clement reaffirmed: “Danilo will also be out due to a knee issue that he sustained during a tackle during the Hearts game.” The possibility of surgery exists.

We can only hope that this isn’t as bad as it sounds, because this is the last thing any Rangers fan wants to hear.

Tom Lawrence’s most recent injury

Due to injury troubles, the unfortunate offensive midfielder has missed much of the previous year and is just not able to get lucky.

This season, Lawrence made a comeback from a lengthy ACL injury, although he was limited to a few games before missing further time due to injury. After missing the following six Premiership games, he returned to form in the Viaplay Cup semi-final victory against Hearts at the beginning of November.

Lawrence finally appeared to be over his issues; he had two assists for the Rangers this season; however, he sustained another leg injury against the Jambos in the middle of the week.

After being sent off early in that match, Clement announced on Friday that his midfield player would not return until after the Premiership Christmas break. Terrible.

Borna Barisic’s recent injury

Regarding Borna Barisic’s knock sustained shortly before the Hearts game on Wednesday, Clement remained silent.

Due to the Belgian’s radio silence on Friday, we can only conclude that the Croatian may be fully recovered from his muscle injury. But his inclusion against Dundee might still be in question.

Nico Raskin’s most recent injury

Nico Raskin, a tough-tackling midfielder, was stretchered off against Hearts in November and is now sidelined for the long run. Additionally, Clement stated that there is no updated prognosis about Raskin’s absence and that the team is not happy with how his rehabilitation is progressing.

Clement briefly confirmed at his pre-Dundee press conference that Rangers stars Ryan Jack and Scott Wright will not be available for Saturday.

The pair missed the Hearts win and are still not ready to return to action. Jack picked up his injury during Scotland duty and Wright has a muscular issue that he’s struggling to shake off.
