Tragic Danilo has expressed gratitude to Rangers supporters for their support as he prepares for yet another grueling stint on the sidelines.

The Brazilian had been named as Philippe Clement’s starting striker since he made a full recovery from a significant facial injury that sidelined him from the middle of August to the end of October. He began the Rangers’ 1-0 victory over Hearts last week, but he had to leave the game in the middle of the second half due to a knee injury.

And when Clement announced on Friday that he won’t be seeing him until after the winter break, fans hoping for information on the severity of the injury were disappointed. Although the £7 million striker has not had much luck with injuries, this setback is not depressing him, based on his most recent social media tweets.

Danilo said, “Out of necessity not able to do what I love the most for a period of time,” as an emotional greeting to followers. For the next games, I shall cheer on the team virtually. I have to get my knee healed and returned as quickly as feasible for the time being. I appreciate everyone’s concern.

Tom Lawrence was also sidelined by a new injury sustained by Clement, who earlier on Friday stated: “Tom will be out until the winter break.” Danilo will also be absent. That’s not good, then.

“They won’t arrive before the winter vacation. Danilo’s circumstance was unlucky; that’s what happens in football. He experienced a knee problem as a result of the contact.”
