Mohamed Diomande is too good to stay at Rangers in the long run, and Philippe Clement has come to terms with it.
During the January transfer window, Rangers signed Diomande from FC Nordsjaelland on a temporary loan, with an option to buy in the summer.
In his five games thus far, the 22-year-old midfielder has shown promise—most notably in the 5-0 victory over Hearts—but Clement believes he will develop further in time.
During the press conference on Tuesday, February 27, Clement stated, “I don’t think Rangers will be his last step. Diomande is a high-potential player.” The statement was tweeted by the Rangers.
“Those are the qualities you are searching for—talent and the proper mindset to work for the team.”
To the question of whether Diomande “can reach the top,” Clement said, “I think so.”

Since moving from Nordsjaelland for an estimated £4.5 million, Diomande has already scored a few fantastic goals.

Diomande isn’t even officially a player for us yet, therefore it’s evident that no one is considering selling him at this time.
The ideal situation for any signing is to get several excellent seasons out of a player before they depart to make money.
With Diomande, it is the same story, and Clement has at least been forthright and truthful about it.
