Brazilian sensation expected to sign a £15.7 million deal to play for Rangers

While Alfredo Morelos returns to scoring goals for Santos, the player that the former Rangers striker replaced is making big plays against Benfica, a Europa League rival.

The 27-year-old firebrand from Colombia, Morelos, has already scored twice in three games for the Brazilian powerhouses as they attempt to recover from their first-ever relegation.

There were some doubts regarding Fabio Silva’s suitability for our team when Rangers signed him before the transfer window had even officially opened.

Although Gers manager Philippe Clement has previously stated that he doesn’t care where his team scores goals, on Saturday at Ibrox versus Hearts, we got a taste of what the attacker on loan is capable of.

It’s exciting to see Fabio Silva played in a different position in a game where all of the Rangers’ new arrivals scored.

Fabio Silva has a new role with the Rangers

Clement will be happy to see all of his key attacking players contribute goals, whatever his remarks.

Although all three of the January additions have performed well, Silva’s usage is the most intriguing.

Although the 21-year-old did well last season while on loan in Belgium and the Netherlands, he has never been a consistent goal scorer.

And for this reason, there were those in the Rangers fan base who insisted on signing a more natural finisher, such as Lawrence Shankland.

Although Silva has rarely looked like anything other than a tidy and technically superb player when he has either started or come off the bench in rotation with the large Nigerian, Cyriel Dessers has solidified his position as the team’s first-choice number nine.

However, he scored Rangers’ fifth goal against Hearts, coming on as Tom Lawrence’s replacement and playing alongside Dessers rather than in place of him at number ten.

Due to his own recent injury issues, Lawrence cannot be expected to play every game while Todd Cantwell is out.

There is no reason Silva can’t play in this position instead against teams when we will control possession.

Although he may have a stronger attack mentality, his work ethic has never been questioned since he started.

Everyone has embraced Clement’s concept of energy and intensity, and Fabio Silva isn’t displaying any indications that he believes he is too talented for the Rangers or the SPFL.

We may be in dire need of a goal-scoring number 10 given the players we have lost to injury.
