BRAKING Rangers haven’t agreed yet, but Ridvan Yilmaz has agreed to a deal with a new team.

According to a recent story, Ridvan Yilmaz, a defender for the Rangers, wants to leave Ibrox and has already agreed to terms with his next team before the Gers have even finalized their own.

News about Rangers transfers
The Gers are expected to make additions before the end of the month, but it would be considered asking for too much if they don’t make any. The position where the most rumors have surfaced recently is left-back, where five different players have been linked to moves to Ibrox.

Rangers officials are keeping an eye on Bristol City’s Cameron Pring and David Jurasek, a 23-year-old who is now at Benfica, as prospective targets. Another name in the running is Josh Doig, a defender for Hellas Verona who may make a comeback to the Scottish Premiership.

These connections stem from Yilmaz’s persistent support to depart Rangers in January in order to pursue more consistent playing time elsewhere. Yilmaz hasn’t always been a major player for Philippe Clement this season. Leeds United has also been connected to Borna Barisic, and the loss of two left-backs could seriously upset the apple cart.

Ridvan Yilmaz consents to a Galatasaray agreement.
Journalist Gokmen Ozcan stated on X that Ridvan Yilmaz wants to leave Rangers this month, but he also said that Hellas Verona is leading the charge and that a transfer to Galatasaray had fallen through.

Another update from Turkey, however, says that “this transfer is about to happen” and that Yilmaz has actually now agreed terms with Gala (Kadir Cetincali). The precise conditions between the two clubs still need to be sorted out, though, as Gala wants a loan agreement with a buyout option while the Gers want a fee now.

Yilmaz’s stay at Rangers does seem to be coming to an end this month, and to be fair, it makes sense that he could be looking for a new challenge. This season, he and Barisic have split the burden in the league, with neither player starting more than ten games.

It is imperative that the Gers sign a suitable replacement for Yilmaz should he leave Ibrox in the coming weeks, and it appears that they have no shortage of possibilities. Given that he is still only 21 years old and has been hailed as a tremendous talent for several years, Doig might stand out due to his long-term potential. He might also seize the chance to exchange Italy for Scotland.

With the Czech not yet having tested his mettle in the English game, Jurasek would undoubtedly be more of a risk, but he would also be an intriguing young prospect to replace Yilmaz.

When given the opportunity, Yilmaz was a good servant who recorded four assists in 29 games; should he go on, that is.
