Rangers legend John Brown shared the advice he gave to the 20-year-old McCausland, telling him to get better in the last third of the game. McCausland has shown promise in his little time on the field while wearing a Rangers shirt.

He stated, “I managed to see him pre-season against Everton and his ability is exceptional, so is his vision,” as reported by the Daily Record on November 28.
I’ve watched him, and while he still has room to grow and add more physicality to his frame, he seems like a promising young player.
“I told him to be more clinical, and he delivered with a fantastic goal in the second half. He appears to be the kind that loves the big atmosphere. He will benefit from playing with other skilled players.
McCausland has escaped any early criticism or scrutiny from supporters because he is still very much seen as a young prospect who is outperforming expectations and developing faster than anticipated this season.
But after signing that new deal, McCausland will no longer be considered a raw talent but rather a valuable member of the Rangers team, and he’ll be expected to contribute more goals and assists in the closing minutes of games.

The 20-year-old demonstrated his ability to score on his own against Livingston prior to the international break. Although his first-half goal at the Tony Macaroni Arena was disallowed, he maintained excellent composure to smash in a fairly difficult chance.
Although Philippe Clement frequently uses wide players, he also anticipates goals from players throughout his team. Wingers in particular must contribute in the final third due to Rangers’ strikers’ inconsistent performance, and McCausland must heed Brown’s advice if he hopes to play regularly under the Belgian.
