defender Leon Balogun has praised Rangers midfielder Kieran Dowell for his impressive recent training performances.
Ross County was scheduled to visit Ibrox this evening, so the Rangers were expected to be active.
The match has been postponed due to unfavorable weather, giving the Gers a few more days to rest before playing Celtic.
After the Christmas break, Rangers won’t mind taking a few more days off, but one player is probably eager to play again.
Kieran Dowell taking the Rangers by storm while receiving praise from Leon Balogun
In Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Motherwell, midfielder Kieran Dowell opened the scoring by executing a one-two with Cyriel Dessers and then blasting the ball high into the net.
Over the summer, Dowell left Norwich City on a free transfer after being drawn to Ibrox by Michael Beale.
The 26-year-old participated in the season’s first two league games but struggled to get back into the game after suffering an injury.
Dowell made just one appearance between August 13 and December 19, nearly disappearing from view.
Due to a lack of midfield options at Ibrox, Dowell came in from the cold to start against St Johnstone last week.
The former Everton player performed admirably and then took a risk against Motherwell as well, demonstrating his availability to Philippe Clement.
Dowell has been making an impression on teammates on the practice field and appears to be finding his footing at Rangers.
Leon Balogun, a defender, has now stated to Rangers TV that he believes Dowell has been “fantastic” during training.

Balogun mentioned that the Rangers team had been talking about his training sessions in the locker room, saying they were amazed by his performances.
Balogun, who has known Dowell since their days at Wigan Athletic, commended the playmaker for his recent, “unbelievable,” improvement in form.
Balogun declared, “I am really, really happy for Kieran because I think all the boys will agree that he deserves that.” “He has been training really well all the time, and the boys have been talking about his training performances in the dressing room. I’m glad he was able to put in these performances after going through a tough time. He was really strong, in my opinion, and I believe he won Man of the Match after scoring a goal on Sunday. Before I came to Rangers for the first time, I knew him from my loan at Wigan a few years ago, but for him, it’s unbelievable,” he continued.
Dowell’s current mission is to step it up and submit the performances on a regular basis.
Dowell has been Clement’s only option, and he will soon have additional midfield options at his disposal.
After serving his suspension, Jose Cifuentes will return, and Ryan Jack, Nicolas Raskin, and John Lundstram will return from their injuries soon.
Dowell will soon have more competition, but maybe he can build on his recent performances and contribute consistently to Clement’s Rangers team.
