Clement confirms exit-bound Rangers man is still at Auchenhowie after airflight image emerges

Philippe Clement shares new Kemar Roofe update after Rangers man jets out of Glasgow

Rangers manager Philippe Clement has confirmed that Kemar Roofe is “still in the building” at Ibrox and could feature against Hearts.

Rangers are set to face Hearts at Tynecastle for their final game of the Scottish Premiership season on Saturday, 18 May. However, the team will be missing several key players due to injury issues, presenting a challenge for manager Philippe Clement.

Despite speculation and a photo suggesting that Kemar Roofe has already departed Glasgow, Clement clarified that Roofe is still part of the squad and might play against Hearts. Clement was quoted by The Rangers Review saying, “He is still in the building yes. It depends on his level and I need to look at the future also.”

Roofe’s time at Rangers this season has been largely disappointing due to persistent injury problems. The 31-year-old striker has only managed to score one Scottish Premiership goal and has been in the starting lineup just six times, most recently in the goalless draw against Dundee in April. As the summer transfer window approaches, Roofe’s future at Rangers remains uncertain.

Roofe and Danilo’s recurring fitness issues have forced manager Philippe Clement to rely heavily on Cyriel Dessers throughout much of the season. While Dessers has shown improvement as the season progressed, he has not proven to be the type of striker capable of leading Rangers to a league title.

There is hope that Roofe can make a memorable farewell appearance at Hampden during the Scottish Cup final. Although Roofe’s time at Rangers has been marred by injuries, he has had significant moments, particularly under former manager Steven Gerrard and during the Europa League campaign. His contributions, despite being inconsistent due to his fitness struggles, are acknowledged by the club and its supporters.
