Ross McCausland doubtful for Rangers v Hibernian amid new injury update

Rangers have been dealt another injury blow ahead of their SPFL clash with Hibernian after Ross McCausland was ruled out of Northern Ireland’s clash with Scotland.

The young winger missed the Europa League clash with Benfica after suffering an injury but was called up to the national team squad by boss Michael O’Neill anyway.

But after missing the first friendly against Romania, McCausland has now been ruled out of the second friendly with Scotland next week and is a doubt to be able to play for Rangers in their return to action next weekend.

Rangers can’t buy a good injury update

Philippe Clement has had nothing but bad news when it comes to injuries at Ibrox since his arrival at the club, and it is showing no signs of easing up right now.

Striker Danilo is expected to miss the rest of the season, while Abdallah Sima and Oscar Cortes still have a way to go before returning and Ryan Jack and Kieran Dowell remain sidelined too.

That situation was made even worse when Ridvan Yilmaz was forced off injured for Turkey after a late call-up, and now the Glasgow club have to find a way to continue to deal with these issues.

Ross McCausland has experienced a breakthrough season at Rangers

It’s a real busy time of the season with every game being incredibly important, and with Celtic pushing the Bears all the way Clement needs his squad to be as strong as possible.

McCausland now has a week to be able to rest and recover and  hopefully make himself available for Rangers’ next game. By the looks of things, Clement will need him.
