Verified: The Rangers star was left out of today’s official announcement.

Jack Butland, Rangers

Despite his incredible form for Rangers, Jack Butland has not been included in the England team for the forthcoming international break.

The goalie was anticipated to be announced as one of the three goalkeepers in the team for this month’s friendly matches against Belgium and Brazil.

Butland will unexpectedly stay in Glasgow after Gareth Southgate chose to go with Jordan Pickford, Sam Johnstone, and Aaron Ramsdale as his alternatives.

Gain for Rangers, loss for England

Although Southgate has many excellent goalkeeping alternatives at his disposal, Butland is undoubtedly being discussed, and it’s absurd that he hasn’t been included.

Pickford is without a doubt the best, and it is understandable given his accomplishments for Southgate and England in important tournaments, even though Sam Johnstone plays frequently for Crystal Palace.

Although Ramsdale is an excellent goalkeeper in his own right, he isn’t playing for Arsenal at all, and Butland is playing every game for Rangers and doing so at an exceptionally high level both in the United States and in Europe.

Instead, the player will get to practise with the team of Philippe Clement and possibly have a brief vacation before the season’s final stretch.

Rangers can only benefit from that, and although Butland will undoubtedly be disappointed, perhaps he can use it as motivation to win trophies at Ibrox.
