“Torrid” – Rangers: Borna Barisic’s performance against Kilmarnock is referred to by Mark Warburton as a “torrid” player.

According to Mark Warburton, Rangers defender Borna Barisic received a rough treatment from Danny Armstrong during the team’s Scottish Premiership match against Kilmarnock.

Wednesday, February 28, at Rugby Park, Philippe Clement’s team overcame a deficit to win 2-1 and keep their lead atop the Premiership standings. Goals from James Tavernier and Tom Lawrence sealed the victory.

But the Light Blues’ performance was far from flawless, particularly in the first half, and Warburton didn’t waste any time criticizing Barisic in particular for his subpar play in the first forty-five minutes of the match.

“A couple of changes made, Yilmaz has come on for Barisic who was having a torrid time against but as of yet there’s no real reaction,” he remarked on Wednesday, February 28, at 8:56 p.m. on Sky Sports Soccer Special.

This summer, will Borna Barisic depart from the Rangers?

When Barisic was selected in Rangers’ starting lineup for their match against Kilmarnock instead of Ridvan Yilmaz, it came as a surprise because the Turkish defender has been playing brilliantly ever since Clement moved to Glasgow earlier in the season.

The Belgian hasn’t shied away from changing up his starting lineup, but Barisic’s performance on Wednesday night was more proof that his time at Ibrox is rapidly coming to an end since he isn’t dependable every week.

It hasn’t scared Philippe Clement to switch up his Rangers lineups.

The Croatian international’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign, and it doesn’t seem likely that either side will rush to reach an extension; instead, a summer transfer would be in everyone’s best interests.

Hopefully, that will be the last time we see Barisic wearing a Rangers jersey—at least temporarily. Yilmaz will most likely be back in the starting lineup for Saturday’s game against Motherwell at Ibrox (2 March).
