TOP CLASS: Premier League Star Describes Rangers and Celtic Duo as They Make one Thing Obvious.

Billy Gilmour believes that the omission of Celtic’s Callum McGregor from the Scotland team and Rangers’ Ryan Jack demonstrate the depth of midfield talent in the country.

The midfielder from Brighton is competing to get into Steve Clarke’s team for Euro 2024. Nonetheless, there is fierce rivalry in the middle of the park; Lewis Ferguson’s amazing performance for Bologna only justifies a bench berth versus Holland.

Prior to the competition in Germany, the friendly ended in a tough 4-0 defeat, despite Gilmour’s impressive play throughout the match. Next up this Tuesday at Hampden is another exhibition match against Northern Ireland.

Glam Game
Before the game in Amsterdam, Gilmour spoke with Viaplay about the competition from two other midfielders who are sidelined by injury. Callum McGregor, the captain of Celtic, has been a consistent player and missed this camp due to a calf/Achilles issue.

Ryan Jack is not playing in this one due to an injury, having missed the Rangers’ last few games. According to Gilmour, both are excellent operators who demonstrate this side’s reserves. We are a close-knit group, he said. We stay in touch all the time.

“My club had a difficult season last year, but coming here gave me more confidence. The gaffer continued to play me in games and indicated that he believed in me. I’ve played a lot more games at the club this season, which has been an entirely different experience.

“I want to start for Scotland on a regular basis. We have a fantastic team, and our midfield is quite effective, but I want to make an impression. Both Ryan Jack and Callum McGregor are excellent players but are now injured. It’s challenging since we’re all trying to play three or four roles, but I believe that’s what we like the most.”
