Shocking News: Rangers executives are suddenly having trouble reaching an Ibrox deal. Clement has actively pursued

A key update has emerged regarding the future of a “magnificent” Rangers player, with Philippe Clement’s stance on the matter made clear.

It seems Rangers have some decisions to make regarding players whose contracts are expiring at the end of the season. One such player is midfielder John Lundstram, who is reportedly keen on extending his stay at Ibrox. There are indications that an agreement could be reached in the coming weeks, suggesting positive developments in contract negotiations.

On the other hand, Kemar Roofe is also in a similar contractual situation, but the club seems willing to let him depart for free in the summer. Reports suggest that Rangers are planning to replace him with what is described as an “A-List” attacker, indicating their intention to upgrade in that position during the upcoming transfer window.

These decisions reflect the club’s strategy in managing player contracts and squad improvements. While they aim to retain key players like Lundstram, they also recognize the need for reinforcements and may be willing to let certain players leave to make room for new signings.

It seems that Rangers have been impressed with the performances of their loanee players, particularly Abdallah Sima and Fabio Silva, during their temporary spells at the club.

Abdallah Sima has been particularly prolific, scoring 10 goals in just 15 starts in the Scottish Premiership. His impressive form has reportedly attracted interest from Brighton, who are willing to sell him for a fee ranging between £10-15 million. If Rangers decide to make his loan move permanent, it could potentially see them break their transfer fee record, which currently stands at £12 million paid for Tore Andre Flo at the beginning of the century.

Fabio Silva, another loanee from Wolves, has also done well during his time at Rangers. However, whether both Sima and Silva will be signed permanently by the club at the end of the season remains to be seen. It will likely depend on various factors, including their performances for the remainder of the season, contractual negotiations, and the club’s financial situation.

Twist over “magnificent” Rangers ace’s future

According to a new update from Football Insider, Lundstram’s talks with Rangers over a new deal have now “stalled”, in what represents a fresh twist. Clement is “personally pushing” for the deal to go through, clearly rating the Englishman as a player, seeing him as an “integral part of the first-team squad”.

The report goes on to add that Lundstram “now wants to weigh up his options before committing to a new contract with the Liverpool-born star expecting to have multiple offers in the summer”.

Rangers are in a tricky position with the former Sheffield United ace this summer, considering he is now 30 years of age and will demand high wages in a new deal. That could be a risk, due to him potentially drifting past his peak in the near future.

On the flip side, Lundstram is valued by Clement and does still arguably have a lot to offer, having been hailed as “magnificent” by Andy Walker. He has a wealth of experience at a high level, including making 62 appearances in the Premier League, could remain at his best for the foreseeable future.

Ultimately, the decision lies with Rangers’ owners, but if Clement wants an extension to happen, the manager has to be trusted in his decision considering what he has shown so far in Glasgow.
