Rangers star teams up with Celtic rival as confusion reigns over separate call-up reports

Fabio Silva has undoubtedly adapted to life at Rangers, but he will need to set aside club loyalty in order to work in Portugal with a Celtic great.

Alongside Celtic midfielder Paolo Bernardo, 22, the 21-year-old Ibrox leane has been called up to the Portugal U21 squad as they continue their U21 Euro qualifying campaign.

The two players will be lined up on the same squad during a title fight, and we wonder if any words will be said over this season’s close race for the trophy.

There are still games against the Faroe Islands (21/03) and Croatia (26/03), so maybe both groups of Old Firm supporters will be keeping a watch on Portugal’s development.

Paolo Bernardo is on loan at Celtic from Benfica, and Fabio Silva is on loan at Rangers from Wolves in the Premier League.

Paolo Bernardo and Fabio Silva meet with the Portugal U21 team.

Not only are Paolo Bernardo and Fabio Silva the two players from the Old Firm who are dividing time with Portugal on the international scene.

Although the Scotland team is made up of a mix of former players and Rangers and Celtic supporters, John Souttar is the sole member of the Ibrox team on the current roster.

Only two Celtic players are included in the team; Steve Clarke chose full-backs Anthony Ralston and Greg Taylor.

Ridvan Yilmaz Perplexity about Turkey

Ridvan Yilmaz has caused some uncertainty in an official Rangers update regarding the eight players who are away on international duty.

The list of players called up during this international break includes John Souttar (Scotland), Rabbi Matondo (Wales), Ross McCausland (Northern Ireland), Cyriel Dessers (Nigeria), Fabio Silva (Portugal U21s), and the Scotland U21 trio of Leon King, Adam Devine, and Cole McKinnon.

However, promising Turkish full-back Ridvan Yilmaz is not included despite reports that his nation called him up this week to replace an injured player.

We should probably accept the assertions with a grain of salt until there is official confirmation, which has not yet been provided.
