Rangers eye move for midfield goal-threat linked to Leicester

It seems that Rangers are considering making a move for Austrian midfielder Matthias Seidl during the upcoming summer transfer window. Seidl has been performing impressively for an Austrian Bundesliga side, which has garnered attention from several clubs including Rangers and their Old Firm rivals Celtic, as well as English clubs such as Leicester, Fulham, Crystal Palace, Wolves, and Burnley.

Seidl, who is 23 years old, has already earned three full international caps for Austria and has been in good form, scoring nine goals and providing six assists in all competitions this season. While Rangers have strong midfield options like Todd Cantwell and Tom Lawrence, injuries have highlighted the need for quality backup in all positions.

Crystal Palace, in particular, may have an advantage in signing Seidl due to their new manager, Oliver Glasner, who is Austrian and was previously linked to the Rangers job. The competition for Seidl’s signature could be tough, especially with Premier League clubs potentially offering significant financial incentives.

Rangers have also been linked to other potential signings in midfield and upfront, but whether they pursue Seidl remains to be seen, especially considering the intense competition for his services.
