Rangers: As Controversy rages on, Andy Halliday calls a Gers fan’s assertion “mental.”

The way a Rangers fan handled the postponed match against Dundee was described by Andy Halliday as “mental.”

On Monday, March 18, supporter’s suggestion on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard that the Gers should receive all three points during the game’s postponement, the commentator expressed his understanding of the frustration following the “messy” events that transpired.

However, he inquired as to what would happen to the earlier matches that were postponed at Dens Park this season because he feels that awarding points to any club would be improper.

Halliday responded, “I’m going to support you because you described it as mental.” “I think it’s insane to give Rangers three points for that assertion. I completely understand your frustration—yesterday, everything appeared a little disorganised.

“It’s not good for any team that you’re calling off a game that’s live on Sky 90 minutes before kickoff. However, what are you doing with the three teams whose games at Dens Park were postponed?

“No, I don’t think points should be handed to any club. It’s unfortunate, it’s not great timing, especially with the games coming thick and fast over the split.”

The postponement of Dundee and Rangers does not look good.
A game being postponed due to a flooded field in 2024 is definitely not a good picture for the SPL, especially considering the resources that ought to be in place to avoid these problems.

These instances are incredibly rare in elite divisions throughout Europe, so it’s actually pretty embarrassing, but they’ve happened much too frequently at Dens Park.

Rangers shouldn’t have the three points since that would be unfair and would damage the competition, even though there will be an investigation into the situation.

However, these circumstances must not be tolerated, and the league must collaborate with teams like Dundee to find a solution to their pitching issues.

While it won’t aid the Gers in any way in their quest for the SPL championship, perhaps it will advance the league and stop heartbreaking events like this one from happening again in the future.
