Manager confirms Rangers star sent home from international duty amid tackle complaints

Rangers starlet set for loan transfer ...

Rangers winger Ross McCausland has been sent home from Northern Ireland international duty as the impact of a recent challenge against Motherwell lingers.

In a recent loss at Ibrox, Motherwell’s Dan Casey was criticized by Rangers manager Philippe Clement for “kicking McCausland out of the game.”

Although a stretched Rangers team has since utilized the winger infrequently, the issue has continued until the international break.

Ross McCausland will not play in the Northern Ireland match.

It has already been confirmed by Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill that Ross McCausland will miss the forthcoming away friendly against Romania.

In addition, the Ulster coach stated that although Jamal Lewis, a Watford loanee, has been returned to club training, both players may still feature in next week’s Hampden friendly against Scotland.

“Jamal Lewis and Ross McCausland have returned to their clubs for treatment,” O’Neill stated. Hopefully, though, they’ll come along when we go to Scotland for the second game.

The injury’s persistence highlights the type of challenges that frequently go unpunished in Scottish football.

Dan Casey, who went on to score the game’s winning goal, infuriated the Rangers by not getting sent off for the crucial challenge that ended Ross McCausland’s breakout season.

Something tells us that Philippe Clement, a Belgian manager who is also on a one-man mission to upgrade the country’s pitches, is taken aback by the dearth of contemporary ideas north of the border.

Rangers winger’s inaugural campaign was hampered

Although 20-year-old winger Ross McCausland would be upset not to play against Romania, there is still plenty of time for the young player to establish himself for Northern Ireland.

During the Northern Irishman’s temporary leadership, Ulster veteran Steven Davis gave the former Linfield academy winger his Rangers opportunity, and the Northern Irishman hasn’t looked back.

Ross McCausland has made an outstanding 30 appearances for the first team this season, and Philippe Clement sees him as a solid squad option as the team looks to capture a historic triple.

Hopefully, the international break will enable the Rangers winger to move past any problems and resume his season.

McCausland was one of the five Rangers internationals who were initially called up for duty; another was added this week at a later time.
