JUST IN: Rangers sprinting to sign “Brilliant” 25-year-old English talent as top contenders emerge!

Rangers are still in the race to sign Coventry City midfielder Callum O’Hare in the summer transfer window, according to TBR Football.

The online publication reported on Saturday (27 April) that Rangers are one of a number of teams keen to sign the soon-to-be free agent.

The Gers’ fierce rivals Celtic are also said to be in the running, as are Southampton and Premier League-bound Leicester City.

However, it is claimed that Burnley – set to be relegated to the English Championship – are the current frontrunners for his signature.

Callum O’Hare contract situation at Coventry City

Coventry boss Mark Robins recently confirmed that the club had offered O’Hare a new deal, but he seems unlikely to sign it.

Given he is available on a free contract, it is no surprise to see a number of clubs queuing up in an attempt to bring him on board.

O’Hare, who was hailed as a “brilliant person” by Robins earlier in the season, would undoubtedly bolster Rangers’ squad – and indeed the first XI.

Philippe Clement will no doubt be looking to strengthen his Rangers squad this summer

The 25-year-old was on target in Coventry’s cruel defeat to Manchester United last weekend and has 10 goals to his name in all competitions.

Predominantly used as an attacking midfielder, O’Hare can also play deeper and would therefore give Philippe Clement room for manoeuvre.

Signing the Englishman will not be easy, but this is certainly a move that makes sense for the Light Blues to pursue as we approach the summer window.
