Following a loss to Aberdeen, a supporter approached the keeper.

This season, the Rangers have had two different managers, and things weren’t looking good at first.

Maybe the clearest example of that is what Jack Butland had to say to one of his supporters. Michael Beale’s final game in command of the Light Blues was a miserable 3-1 home loss to Aberdeen early in the season. The huge goalie was caught on camera chatting with a frustrated fan who expressed his fears about missing out on a Champions League cash bonanza.
After Philippe Clement took over to change their style and lead them to the Premiership, the Ibrox side is now in a strong position to win that. Butland is able to look back on that day with a smile now because the picture is much more positive, and he acknowledges that interacting with fans always makes him happy.

“I always stop and sign stuff for the kids and stuff like that afterwards, win, lose, or draw,” he declared. It’s okay that a small number of fans desired a little bit more interaction.

“I’m always happy to talk to them. However, there are instances when cameras, phones, and similar devices are unnecessary. We had a nice discussion.”

He conceded when asked what he would say if he ran across the same individual again: “I’ve run into him a few times since. Now he’s content.

“He has far more to be grateful for, as the goal and the target are constants. We are, in one way or another, at least somewhat close to where we need to be.”
