Hugh Keevins: Clement gets it wrong as Rangers fans in ‘Revolt’ over what they’ve seen

Rangers fans are unhappy with Philippe Clement and his tactics following poor performances in the previous two SPFL games, according to Hugh Keevins.

Rangers player verdict emerges as Keevins laughs at fans

The Gers have fallen three points behind Celtic in the title race after drawing 0-0 with Dundee and losing to Ross County.

Fans are frustrated because this poor form has come at the worst possible time, as the Scottish Premiership season nears its end.

According to Keevins’ article in the Daily Record (April 21), fans are becoming increasingly frustrated with the manager’s performance.

He stated: “His reading of the game at Dens Park, for example, must have been an attempt to publicly reassure and placate the fans who are now in revolt over what they are watching.

“But Clement’s assertion of Rangers’ dominance didn’t equate with the post-match reaction of a travelling support patently aggrieved by what they had seen.”

Could Rangers fire Philippe Clement?

There is no doubt that frustration has grown in recent weeks, with performances declining and the title race fading.

Given that Brendan Rogers’ side is now three points ahead of the Gers, if they keep up their current form, Celtic will win the title.

Although the last few weeks have enraged some fans, Clement has had a successful tenure in charge since taking over.

He was named manager in October 2023, and he remained unbeaten until December before going on a 10-win streak. This propelled the Light Blues back into contention for the title after they appeared to be struggling under Michael Beale.

It is only three games. They are significant games, and it is frustrating to consider what might have been. Win against Ross County and Dundee, and the picture changes completely.

The last few weeks have not been good, but sacking the manager is not the solution.
