Exclusive: Rangers plan to sell player at ‘huge’ loss

Football Insider sources indicate that Rangers are prepared to sell Sam Lammers permanently this summer at a reduced cost. Lammers has performed well on loan at FC Utrecht, leading to interest in keeping him or arranging another loan spell. However, Rangers prefer a permanent sale and would consider offers meeting their price, even though it might result in a substantial loss compared to his initial fee. Lammers’ recent strong form in the Eredivisie has attracted attention, with six goals in his last five league games and a total of seven goals in 13 appearances for Utrecht.

The striker flop had only managed two goals and two assists in 31 appearances across all competitions for Rangers, where his contract is set to run until June 2027.

He primarily played behind the striker and on the right flank during his time at Ibrox but has led the line during his time at Utrecht.
