Breaking News: This week’s Ibrox development led a BBC expert to publicly acknowledge the Rangers as a new title.

After losing to Benfica in the Europa League on Thursday, March 14, Rangers may believe that their chances of winning the SPL have somewhat increased, according to Rory Loy.

The analyst stated on Friday, March 15, on the BBC’s Scottish Football Podcast that he doesn’t think the Gers players would have any trouble getting over their 1-0 loss to the Portuguese champions because they still have a lot of games left in this season.

He went on to say that it would have been “extremely difficult” for the Light Blues to advance to the championship game as they did a few years prior due to the caliber of the remaining teams in the competition, using Sparta Prague’s 6-1 loss to Liverpool in the second leg at Anfield as an example.

“They have a lot to play for between now and the end of the season, so I don’t think they’ll have any trouble moving on,” said Loy. “Really, though, if you look at the teams still in the Europa League, it would have been very difficult for Rangers to advance to the final like they did a few seasons ago,” Loy added.

They have a few point lead in the league and are also in contention for the Scottish Cup. They didn’t do themselves any harm, in my opinion, last night. They did alright, in my opinion, from back to center; they merely missed a little bit above. I felt that the game lacked sufficient content.

“Take a look at Sparta Prague, who traveled to Liverpool with the Rangers team and were completely destroyed. That kind of outcome has the potential to deflate your bubble, and it represents the kind of club standard that remains in the competition. In the course of the two matches, Rangers performed admirably and presented Scottish football in a respectable light against a very strong team.

“I would say that this is a good thing to have, and I don’t think it will alter the attitude around the camp too much. But Rangers may believe that their prospects of winning the Premier League title at the conclusion of the season have somewhat increased if that is their goal.

Rangers can concentrate on winning domestically after losing to Benfica.

Rangers’ close loss against Benfica was disappointing, but they should be pleased with how they played throughout the match.

They faced off against the Portuguese champions on their own field, but they were eliminated from the Europa League due to a careless moment at Ibrox.

However, since they were eliminated from the competition, the Gers’ chances of winning the SPL title have increased because they are likely too thin on the ground to contend on three fronts given their current injury situation.

Since there is still a lot to play for this season and Clement seems to have created a winning attitude in his team, he shouldn’t have any trouble refocusing his players.

The Light Blues will be motivated to beat Dundee on Sunday, March 17, in order to respond and maintain their position atop the standings going into the international break.
