The 2023–2024 Rangers loan players and their current performance

Several Rangers players are on loan for the 2023–2024 season. How are they all managing now that they are out of Ibrox?

Numerous loan departures from Rangers this season have been approved by current manager Philippe Clement and former manager Michael Beale.

11 Rangers players, including Sam Lammers and Ianis Hagi of the first team, are presently gaining experience with other teams.

As the season draws to a close, we have included a thorough loan report on every player, complete with numbers that will be updated until June. Every statistic is from FootMob and Transfermarkt.

Ianis Hagi (on loan to Deportivo Alaves)

At the start of the season, Ianis Hagi was loaned to Deportivo Alaves of La Liga.

But in six of the team’s previous nine La Liga games, he has not been used as a substitute and has only started six league games.

He hasn’t left his imprint in Spain other than scoring twice in a single game versus Murcia in November.

Sam Lammers (on loan to Utrecht)

Sam Lammers, who signed a permanent deal with Rangers in the summer after leaving Atalanta, had a very disappointing first half of the season.

Philippe Clement sold out the forward to Utrecht in January, and Lammers hasn’t played well since.

With the exception of a match against PSV Eindhoven, he has played every minute since his debut, compiling a run of three assists in four games.

Now, as his loan is coming to an end, the Dutchman will try to improve his goal total.

Jose Cifuentes (on loan to Cruzeiro)

With that the midfield player has just played two games for Cruzeiro, it is quite tough to evaluate Jose Cifuentes’ loan at the club.

Similar to Lammers, the Ecuadorian failed to persuade the Rangers management or supporters that he could play a significant role in the starting lineup for the remainder of the year.

Adam Devine (on loan to Motherwell)

Right-backIn January, Adam Devine briefly moved from Rangers to Motherwell.

It was obvious that he wouldn’t play much for the Gers because of James Tavernier and Dujon Sterling’s position in the lineup.

Devine scored on his second game for the Steelmen against Aberdeen and notched an assist in the disappointing Scottish Cup loss to Greenock Morton in February.

Arron Lyall (on loan to Airdrieonians)

20-year-old midfielder Arron Lyle is not long into his loan spell with Scottish Championship outfit Airdrieonians.

He made his debut in the Scottish Cup victory over St Johnstone in January but is yet to register either a goal or an assist for The Diamonds.

Jack Harkness (on loan to Greenock Morton)

Regretfully, Jack Harkness, a defender, has not yet kicked a ball for Morton this season due to a hamstring injury he sustained a few days after his Rangers loan was approved [Greenock Telegraph].

Harkness had surgery to address the problem, and as of March 2024, he is still not able to function.

James Graham (on loan to Dumbarton)

James Graham, a forward, was loaned to Annan Athletic for the majority of the season before being assigned to League Two’s Dumbarton.

After recording one assist in 13 games for Annan, he has only appeared in two games thus far.

Jay Hogarth (on loan to Dumbarton)

Jay Hogarth, the goalkeeper, joined Dumbarton in January and is now on loan.

He hasn’t missed a single minute of play since joining the team, making him an ever-present for them. Good things.

Lewis Budinauckas (on loan to Stranraer)

Another Rangers goalkeeper out on loan is Lewis Budinauckas at Stranraer.

He is the League Two side’s first choice between the sticks and captained the club in a 1-0 defeat to Stenhousemuir in January.

Jacob Pazikas (on loan to Civil Service Strollers)

An additional goalie? Yes, in fact. The Lowland League’s top pick for the Civil Service Strollers is young stopper Jacob Pazikas.

A finger injury cut short his season from September to November, but he made a full recovery to take back his normal starting slot in the starting lineup.

Kristian Webster (on loan to Cumbernauld Colts)

A mainstay with the Cumbernauld Colts, defender Kristian Webster is presently playing on loan in the Lowland League.

This season, Webster has played defensive midfield and center back.
