Declan Frith, an attacker for Valencia, is reportedly attracting interest from QPR, Watford, and Birmingham City, according to an Evening Standard report.
Watford, Birmingham City, and QPR have all had difficult seasons. While the Blues and the Rs continue to struggle to stay in the league, the Hornets will play in the championship in 2024–2025.
All three teams will be keeping an eye on possible additions for the summer transfer window as they try to get better for the upcoming campaign, even though there are still games to be played.
Declan Frith, a Valencia prospect, is reportedly attracting interest from all three of the second-tier teams.
The Evening Standard claims that all three of QPR, Watford, and Birmingham City are keeping an eye on the 21-year-old as it becomes more likely that he will leave the Spanish powerhouses this summer.
Getafe is also considering Frith, but a return to England following a year at Valencia may be in the works.
He may be available for a “nominal fee” and is eager to play football for a first team, according to reports. But any deal for the forward will probably include a sizable sell-on clause.
Possibility in the EFL?
As Frith was in England, he was bouncing around academies. Before moving to Chelsea, he was a member of the youth teams at Charlton Athletic, Bromley, Sutton United, and Welling.
His brief tenure there came to an end in October 2021 when Aston Villa acquired him; in 24 games, he managed a respectable eight goals and seven assists before leaving for Spain.
Given his extensive youth football experience, it’s hardly surprising that Frith is aiming for a senior breakthrough.
He’s proven himself in elite academies; an EFL transfer might provide him with the route to playing football for a first team he’s always wanted. Over the years, QPR and Birmingham City have produced some of the best young players, and Watford frequently signs gifted players who go on to become mainstays in the first team.
Frith’s circumstances will eventually clear up, but it appears that he has options, as a Valencia exit appears likely.
