Here are the player ratings of Plymouth Live’s Argyle reporter Chris Errington from the Pilgrims’ 2-0 defeat by Ipswich Town at Home Park. You can give your marks too using our special widget further down this story.

Conor Hazard 6 – Had no chance of saving either of Ipswich’s two goals, the first of which was a huge deflection off team-mate Brendan Galloway and the second a clinical close range finish from Kieffer Moore, but will still be disappointed that Argyle have conceded seven times in their last three games at Home Park.

Julio Pleguezuelo 7 – Justified his continued selection on the right of Argyle’s defensive trio ahead of Ashley Phillips with a strong defensively display, which featured crisp, decisive tackling and important headed clearances from deep crosses.

Lewis Gibson 6 – Was the Argyle defender charged with the task of dealing with Ipswich’s powerful and in-form Wales international forward Kieffer Moore and generally did a decent job of that, but Moore still managed to get his fifth goal in seven games for Town after joining them on loan from Bournemouth.

Brendan Galloway 6 – Very unlucky to be the player who gave Ipswich their 63rd minute lead when he inadvertently deflected a shot from Conor Chaplin into his own goal as Conor Hazard went in the other direction. A yellow card soon afterwards for a challenge on Chaplin seemed harsh too.

Matty Sorinola 5 – Unable to reproduce his bright, positive performance at right wing-back from the 2-0 win at Middlesbrough in the previous match when he was a good attacking outlet, and scored his first goal for the club, but this time he was involved very little when Argyle went forward.

Adam Randell 6 – Showed some good quality in central midfield for Argyle as they went toe-to-toe with in-form Ipswich in the first half. It became harder for him, and all of his team-mates to be fair, as Ipswich gained the ascendancy in the second period.

Jordan Houghton 6 – Battled away as always but his influence on the match was largely negated by the way Ipswich attacked so often down either flank, especially through Omari Hutchinson on the right, rather than trying to play through central areas of the pitch.

Mickel Miller 8 STAR MAN – Was the main source of Argyle’s best attacking play at left wing-back. Almost opened the scoring in the first half with a cleanly-struck volley after a cross from Morgan Whittaker which was headed towards goal but hit retreating Ipswich defender Luke Woolfenden. Miller also had a shot late in the second period touched onto a post by goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky.

Morgan Whittaker 5 – Had an early fiercely-hit cross-shot pushed away by Vaclav Hladky which offered promise of more to come from Whittaker but that was as close as Argyle’s top scorer came to adding to his 18-goal tally as he failed to make much impact after that.

Darko Gyabi 5 – Lined up as a ‘number 10’ for the second successive game, rather than in central midfield, but unlike at Middlesbrough where he had been hugely impressive, Gyabi found it difficult to get on the ball against Ipswich and drive forward.

Ryan Hardie 5 – The striker did not have a scoring chance as Ipswich successfully stifled Darko Gyabi and Morgan Whittaker and therefore starved Hardie of any decent service. He just could not find a way of getting himself into the game.

Joe Edwards 5 – Was a 65th minute substitute for Matty Sorinola immediately after Argyle fell behind following Brendan Galloway’s own goal. Ipswich were dominant after taking the lead and despite the introduction of the always industrious Edwards the Pilgrims could not rouse themselves.

Adam Forshaw 5 – One positive to take from this match was the return to action of the former Premier League midfielder after missing four matches due to injury. He was sent on for Jordan Houghton in the 65th minute.

Mustapha Bundu 5 – It was hard for him as a 75th minute substitute for Darko Gyabi because Ipswich had just gone 2-0 up and Argyle were a beaten side by that stage and posed no real attacking threat.

Alfie Devine – Replaced Adam Randell in the 81st minute but given the state of the game he had few opportunities to show what he can do on the ball going forward.

Ashley Phillips – The loan signing from Tottenham Hotspur was an 81st minute substitute for Brendan Galloway.
