, Plymouth Argyle vs Ipswich Town: 5 players who could dictate the game tomorrow

Plymouth Argyle vs Ipswich Town takes place in the Championship at Home Park tomorrow. Here are five players who could dictate the tie…

Plymouth Argyle vs Ipswich Town sees last season’s automatic promotion winners face off for the second time in the campaign. However, both have embarked on differing journeys since the rise to the Championship.

The Pilgrims have proven their worth in the second-tier but will be looking over their shoulder somewhat. They sit 15th with five points separating them and the drop after a big win over Middlesbrough last season.

The Tractor Boys meanwhile have recovered from a poor run of form to win four in a row, keeping them right in the promotion fight. Kieran McKenna’s side are 3rd in the Championship table, level on points with 2nd placed Leeds United.

Ahead of the game, we pick out five players who could dictate Plymouth Argyle vs Ipswich Town…

Omari Hutchinson

Hutchinson has been in fantastic form of late and with Wes Burns and Nathan Broadhead out, he will likely be in from the start tomorrow. The Chelsea loanee has three goals and two assists in his last five league outings.

Gyabi Darko

Gyabi, a January transfer from Leeds United, has made significant progress in his game since joining Plymouth Argyle. Against Middlesbrough, he may have had his best outing to yet.

Hasney Aljofree of Pilgrims, a pundit, gave him great marks for playing a more forward midfield role. He will receive additional praise if he puts on another great performance.

Jeremy Sarmiento

Sarmiento is another player who could join the team due to the injuries to Burns and Broadhead already stated.

His main responsibility will be to supply the tall striker Kieffer Moore on a regular basis. He can exploit the hosts’ wing-backs with his deft and direct dribbling technique out wide.

Morgan Whittaker

This season, Whittaker has been Argyle’s standout player, and opponents frequently discover that limiting his production is essential to winning at Home Park. However, given the former Swansea City player’s continual danger on the right, that’s easier said than done.

In 34 league games, he has 17 goals and 7 assists, but in these three games, he will be hoping for his first goal contribution.

Burgess, Cameron

The fact that Ipswich Town has improved since Burgess was added back to the starting lineup is no coincidence. After they suffered during his absence with Australia, McKenna and company have won four straight games.

Burgess will have to play a big part if Ipswich are to keep a dangerous Plymouth quiete.
