Another Eagles assistant leaving as staff continues to turn over

NBC Sports Philadelphia first reported that another Eagles assistant is leaving as staff turnover continues.

For the 2024 campaign, the Eagles plan to continue rotating their coaching staff, and one assistant coach will be departing.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Marcus Brady, a senior offensive assistant, is going to the Chargers this time.

Brady was a contender for the offensive coordinator position in Los Angeles, as Fowler noted, but he will play a supporting role for Jim Harbaugh.

Brady, 44, held the position of senior offensive assistant while officially joining the Eagles coaching staff in the previous campaign. However, Brady was brought on as a consultant for the 2022 Super Bowl campaign. His role was to collaborate with Jonathan Gannon, the defensive coordinator at the time, and offer an offensive viewpoint.

Brady’s departure is noteworthy given his relationship with Nick Sirianni. In Indianapolis, Brady collaborated with the Eagles’ head coach. When Sirianni was the offensive coordinator in Indianapolis, Brady was the quarterbacks coach. Furthermore, Frank Reich promoted Brady to offensive coordinator after Sirianni was hired as the head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers in 2021.

However, Sirianni informed us last month at the team’s year-end news conference that the offensive coordinator will be hired to manage that side of the ball. Kelen Moore, a former offensive coordinator for the Chargers and Cowboys, was ultimately hired by the Eagles.

Additionally, we learned this past weekend that Doug Nussmeier will be joining the Eagles as their new quarterbacks coach. Moore has been Nussmeier’s boss for the past six seasons, first in Dallas and then in Los Angeles. Thus, it’s obvious that Moore’s offense in 2024 will resemble this.

Alex Tanney, who held the position for just one season after Brian Johnson was elevated to offensive coordinator, will be replaced by Nussmeier. Johnson lost his job last month.
