The Philadelphia Eagles’ 2023 NFL season is off to a rapid and ugly start after a promising beginning.

The Eagles, who lost to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football, have now dropped three straight games.

Given that Philadelphia has had to contend with a new system on both sides of the ball as well as player ailments, perhaps the setback was expected.

The Eagles dropped in the rankings following their loss to the Seahawks, and thus will no longer receive a first-round bye in the 2023 NFL Playoffs.

It’s evident from looking at the roster that Philadephia isn’t quite as good as the club from the previous season.

According to NBC Sports Philadelphia, Emmanuel Acho went over every position group and saw that very few players have improved from their prior selves.

“Which position group is superior to the Eagles team from last year?” Acho asked.

Acho begins with the quarterback position, believing that Jalen Hurts has regressed from the previous campaign.

He then goes over the offensive and notes each group, stating quite clearly that the offensive line has begun to falter.

Acho, who feels that the defensive line, linebackers, and secondary have all declined precipitously, was even more scathing of the defensive groupings.

Acho is correct that the Eagles’ depth and quality aren’t what they once were, even though it’s not the best reason for why the team has looked so bad this season.
