While the Sixers will be without superstar Joel Embiid, the Heat are hoping they can have Jimmy Butler as there is a new update.
Butler has been upgraded to “questionable” in the run-up to the Christmas Day game, despite being declared out of both of those previous games from the outset. When it comes to Butler, as of the 12:30 p.m. (EST) listing, the official NBA injury report is still questionable, and it is updated hourly.
Stars Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro made their comebacks during the Minnesota Timberwolves game in which Butler sustained the injury. It might have been the cause of the 34-year-old’s meager 15 points in the defeat on Monday night, as he slowed down the final minutes of the game after getting off to a fast start. This season, in his 14th season, he is averaging 21.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game.
These injury issues are not unique to Miami, which has encouraged younger players and role players to step up and make an impact. Since the beginning of the season, Jaime Jaquez Jr., a rookie, has been stepping in for Butler and has been effective.
Even though he has been a mainstay in the Heat’s second unit, he has started the last two games, including Miami’s victory over the Hawks on Friday, in which he finished with 19 points and seven rebounds. Butler and Jaquez will always be compared, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Despite his injuries, Adebayo stated that “brighter days” are ahead.
Adebayo, who is expected to play a significant role in Monday’s game against the Sixers, stated earlier this week that the team is looking forward to “brighter days.”Despite their “ups and downs,” the Heat are still able to win games in spite of their difficulties.
Adebayo remarked, “We have ups and downs throughout the season, and we had them last year.” Many guys who have experienced similar hardships as we did the previous year are aware that there are always good days and chances to succeed. We can still win even though we are short on guys, in my opinion.
Spoelstra considers Heat to have “deep depth.”

Erik Spoelstra, the head coach of the Heat, has been talking about the team’s depth since the start of training camp. He even claimed that Miami has more depth this year than it did the previous. Prior to the team’s victory over the Magic on Wednesday, he stated that while the team has continuity, it still needs to be “consistent.”
Spoelstra stated, “We do feel like we have great depth.” “Since we have excellent continuity, I don’t worry as much about guys missing games. We already know that it’s more about creating consistency in our identity. The continuity is here. Whoever is out there, we know what we should attempt to accomplish. All we have to do is do it more frequently.
Haywood Highsmith, who has been on the injury report numerous times this season, is among the other Heat players listed as “questionable” and “cold.” Josh Richardson is listed as “probable” for the Christmas Day game despite the fact that he is still experiencing back spasms.
In an attempt to wrap up a successful Christmas, the Heat take on the Sixers tonight at the Kaseya Center in hopes of winning three straight games. The absence of superstar Joel Embiid for Philadelphia should make it interesting to watch who steps up in his place. With a 17–12 record on the year, Miami is ranked fifth in the Eastern Conference.
