Injury Woes Mount for Knicks Ahead of Critical Game 4 Clash with Sixers

Knicks vs. 76ers Game 3: Odds, Lineups & Injuries (4/25/24) | Play MA

The New York Knicks face additional injury concerns beyond their standout forward, Julius Randle, as they prepare for their Game 4 matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers.

During Saturday’s practice session before their second game at the Wells Fargo Center, veteran Mitchell Robinson was notably absent, as reported by The Athletic’s Fred Katz.

Leading up to Game 3 on Thursday, Robinson’s status on the Knicks’ injury report was downgraded to questionable. Despite the risk of missing the game, Robinson was ultimately cleared to play and came off the bench for New York.

However, Robinson’s night took a turn for the worse about 12 minutes into his appearance when he suffered an ankle sprain, forcing him out for the entire second half. This setback occurred during a game where the Sixers secured a comfortable 125-114 victory.

Post-game, Robinson was seen wearing a walking boot as he exited the Wells Fargo Center, raising significant concerns about his availability moving forward.

Skipping Saturday’s practice marks another setback for Robinson. While his status for the upcoming game remains uncertain, it’s evident that he may be at risk of missing Game 4.

The Knicks faced challenges containing Sixers’ big man Joel Embiid in Game 3, allowing him to dominate both from the free-throw line and the field, with nearly 70 percent accuracy in his shots. Embiid achieved a playoff career-high of 50 points against the Knicks in that game. As they gear up for a crucial Game 4 in Philly on Sunday, the Knicks may find themselves understaffed as they aim for a third victory in the series.
