One of the top young centers in rugby league, according to reports, was stolen by the Newcastle Knights from the Penrith Panthers.
NRL 2024: Transfer Whispers, Wilson De Courcey signs with Newcastle Knights, Penrith Panthers release, contract

Wilson De Courcey, a former Australia Schoolboy representative, has signed with the Knights for the upcoming season, according to a report from Wide World of Sports.

The Panthers signed the 18-year-old from the Patrician Brothers in Blacktown for 2024, but the Knights have obtained his release from Penrith so he may play for Newcastle.

De Courcey is anticipated to play in the SG Ball Cup and Jersey Flegg Cup the next season before moving up the club’s ladder and maybe getting a chance to play in the NSW Cup.

The goal of the Knights’ succession plan is to have De Courcey into the Top 30 roster by the 2025 campaign.

Patrician Brothers Blacktown player Wilson De Courcey will switch from the Panthers to the Knights.

When Dane Gagai lays up his boots, the Knights will be hopeful that the gun center may become a future star and take over in the centers.

If Bradman Best lives up to his promise, he and De Courcey might be a formidable combination in the centers.
