Bromley, coached by Woodman, defeated Andy Whing’s Solihull Moors on penalties in the Vanarama National League play-off final. Both teams aimed to enter the Football League for the first time in their history.

Bromley took the lead after 41 minutes thanks to Michael Cheek’s finish, but the Moors equalised three minutes later when Grant Smith deflected Tahvon Campbell’s shot into the path of Joe Sbarra.

Cheek regained Bromley’s advantage from the penalty spot soon before the hour mark, but Solihull equalised when Jamey Osborne beat Smith from 20 yards.

Smith, on the other hand, was the hero, saving the first two Solihull penalties from Tyrese Shade and Joss Labadie in the shoot-out, while Cheek, Olufela Olomola, and Jude Arthurs all converted for Bromley, whose skipper Byron Webster scored the game-winning penalty as his side won 4-3 on penalties.
