Oklahoma’s men’s basketball program has made a significant acquisition through the transfer portal. Duke Miles, an All-Big South guard from High Point, has announced his commitment to the Sooners via social media. This marks OU’s fourth successful transfer addition in this cycle.

Miles, who was named Big South Newcomer of the Year, transferred to High Point after three seasons at Troy. During the previous season, he started in 27 out of 33 games, averaging 30.5 minutes per game as a starter. The Alabama native ranked second in the Big South with 17.5 points per game for the Panthers, registering 11 games with 20 points or more, including a season-high of 32 points in an overtime loss to Hofstra and 28 points in a win against UNC Asheville. Throughout his career, Miles earned honors such as NABC All-District First-Team, Big South First-Team All-Conference, and Big South First-Team All-Tournament Team nominations.

Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 170 pounds, Miles, a combo guard from Montgomery, Alabama, opted for Oklahoma over Auburn. Although his 247Sports transfer portal ranking is pending, his proven track record in college basketball positions him as a player with immense potential to contribute at Oklahoma.

Miles’ commitment arrives at a crucial juncture for the program. Oklahoma has faced challenges in the transfer portal, losing key players and missing out on priority targets. However, Miles’ addition signals a positive shift for the Sooners, offering valuable experience and competitiveness in their lineup.

Miles joins a strong incoming transfer cohort for the Sooners, including Kobe Elvis, Jadon Jones, and Brycen Goodline, alongside promising freshmen Dayton Forsythe and Kuol Atak. With just two scholarship spots remaining, Oklahoma is close to finalizing its roster for the upcoming season, aiming to replace the production of departed players and maintain its competitive edge under the leadership of Porter Moser and his coaching staff.
