Landing Beier won’t come easily next month. The player has a release clause of £28 million, with Liverpool, Brighton and Brentford both keen to take a chance on the player.
Forest now linked with Hoffenheim striker Beier
At 21-years-old, the talisman looks like a player who can make an impact in the future. The Forest links have been reported by journalist Christian Falk who has his ear to the ground in the Bundesliga.
Beier has found the net six times during the 2023/24 campaign, with a further four goals being laid on by the talented Germany under-21 international.
The youngster is a product of the youth academy at Hoffenheim. He spent the last two seasons out on loan with Hannover 96, scoring 15 goals in 68 appearances in the German second tier.
Beier fits the profile of a striker that Forest need
The £28 million release clause in the player’s contract won’t make him an easy signing for Forest to complete. With the threat of relegation hanging over the club, it’s a lot to fork out.
However, there is a lot to like about the player. For starters, he has a similar set of skills to Awoniyi and Squawka shows that he wins more duels than the Nigerian talisman.
At 21, he’s also got bags of potential and will have many years to continue honing his trade. Last January, Cooper wanted Chris Wood, with the club parting with £15 million to sign a striker way beyond his best and with no resale value.
Rumour rating: 8/10 – There is a lot to like about this possible deal and perhaps this is a link that has come from George Syrianos still being involved at the club.
Forest would love to sign Beier and one thing the club could offer is regular football and a chance to become an instant hit by keeping the club in the Premier League.
