Chris Wood, a striker for Nottingham Forest, will be evaluated after being substituted during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Luton Town.
Wood, the goal scorer, left the game at Kenilworth Road in the 75th minute due to a knock, which appeared to be bothering him. And with fellow forward Taiwo Awoniyi sidelined for an extended period of time, the Reds will be praying it’s nothing serious.
This month, Wood only made a full recovery from a hamstring ailment. He is scheduled to re-assemble with the New Zealand team for their W Cup international matches in Egypt during the two-week break in the Premier League.
“We need to evaluate him. It was a precaution because he was sensing something. Following his team’s draw with the Hatters, Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo said on Match of the Day, “Hopefully it’s nothing.”
He continued, saying, “Unfortunately, he had to come out,” on BBC Radio Nottingham. Taiwo isn’t here. Strikers are what we need. Everything is altered when our strikers are on the field.
“Chris scored a goal and performed well. We need him to be well so that he can support us. Let’s examine him to find out. We rely on Chris and Taiwo as our strikers, therefore they are very crucial to us.
Due to an issue that arose during the pregame, Awoniyi was left out of the team for the trip to Luton. The front man, who underwent groin surgery in January and returned to activity, has suffered a further setback.
