NEWS UPDATES The 2024 Atlanta Falcons fans are worried about ..

Kirk Cousins Jersey Number 18 Falcons

Kirk Cousins, the quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, will wear number 18. Because of the alteration in Kyle Pitts’ jersey number, fans are now anxious.

Will he be given targets?

After a recent conversation between the fourth-year tight end and the new signal-caller, their fears are legitimate. Even while the latter was eager to give over his number, the former refused to accept it!

Pitts, who was selected fourth overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, has not had a happy beginning to his professional career. As a rookie, he caught 68 passes for 1,026 yards with Matt Ryan, but after that, his output drastically decreased.

He was not getting the ball from Taylor Heinicke, Marcus Mariota, or Desmond Ridder as frequently as he should have been. That was partly the coaching staff’s fault.

In 2022, Kyle Pitts only caught 28 passes out of 59 targets. Even though 2023 performed better, he still only managed 52 receptions for 667 yards on 90 targets, compared to Jonnu Smith’s 50 receptions on 70 targets.

And now Cousins has come, the guy who has worn No. 8 since high school.

The 35-year-old proposed to donate money on Pitts’ behalf or purchase his jersey number from him. His new tight end just asked for “targets every game,” claiming that neither would be required.

Falcons supporters were therefore afraid after hearing the news on Monday that Pitts would not be singled out.

Cousins would get to wear the No. 8 jersey if he could guarantee him the ball.

But he refuses to wear 8! Instead, he’ll wear an 18.

Does this imply that relatives wouldn’t make targets promises? Most likely not.

Between last Wednesday’s press conference and today, the league most likely became involved and demanded that Cousins purchase the last of the Pitts jersey inventory. That would have been expensive. I’ll take number eighteen!
