Rich Eisen discloses an unexpected Daniel Jones rumor

When the New York Giants didn’t pick up Daniel Jones’ fifth-year option, most people thought they were ready to move on from him.

Then, he had a decent year with Brian Daboll at the helm, and they quickly pivoted.

They signed him to a big contract and used the franchise tag on Saquon Barkley, which was highly questioned and even mocked at times.

Jones failed to live up to his big contract last season, struggling mightily when healthy, and missing plenty of time with injuries.

Now, with multiple neck injuries under his belt and an evident lack of improvement, it seems like the Giants could be done with him.

According to Rich Eisen and rumors of what he heard at the Combine, the Giants are done with Jones (via WBG84).

The Giants could move on from Jones after this season, but chances are they’re going to have him on their roster to start the upcoming campaign.

As of now, they have the No. 6 pick, which they could use to try to trade up to the top 3 and get Drake Maye out of UNC.

They could also use that pick on J.J. McCarthy, who’s reportedly rising on most draft boards, or use it to trade down and get him later in the first round if they feel confident he’s going to drop.

Russell Wilson and Ryan Tannehill will also be available, but they might want to go with a younger player, and with the Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly not sold on Justin Fields, perhaps he could be an option for them.
