In 50 games during the Covid-lockout season of 2020–21, the 28-year-old led the way behind Cameron Jerome as the team’s top scorer with 14 goals and eight assists. However, he left the club after just a year to join Ipswich Town. He only stayed at Portman Road for six months and twenty games before moving to Charlton Athletic in January 2022 for an undisclosed sum.

The Scottish player is expected to return north of the border on loan to Hearts, having scored 10 goals in 78 games in The Valley since then. Fraser is anticipated at Tynecastle soon to finish his move until the end of the season, according to Edinburgh News. Fraser hasn’t played for the Addicks since New Year’s Day.

Fraser’s acquisition appears to be Hearts’ second January window acquisition after Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee Dexter Lembikisa arrived on defense.
