Shane Mcloughlin, the full-back for Newport County, discussed his goals ahead of tomorrow’s Sky Bet League Two match between Newport and MK Dons.
Tomorrow afternoon, the Exiles take on fifth-placed MK Dons, and McLoughlin knows how important it is to obtain the best results possible on the road:
Yes, it will be a challenging game. We can assume that they will own a significant amount of the ball.
“I think we can give anyone a good game, so hopefully we can carry out our game plan and give them a good game.” He spoke with assurance.
This season, we’ve faced some elite clubs, but every team in this league is. There are therefore never any easy games on a given weekend. He stated.

At this stage of the season, McLoughlin highlighted the importance of every game, particularly given how close the league table is:

“We have a few challenging trips coming up, but for now, we’re just focused on tomorrow.”
Despite scoring six goals this season and the most starts thus far. While savoring his time on the field and hoping it lasts for the remainder of the season, McLoughlin is setting higher goals for himself:
“I really needed it after last season, when I probably didn’t get to play as many games as I wanted to, and I’ve been enjoying getting that week in and week out.”
It’s something I was eager to accomplish. I genuinely wanted to continue playing and kind of participate in every game. said the 26-year-old.
“It’s fun because you don’t want to stop once you get into a rhythm and a run.”
“It’s good to have a strong squad and competitive environment for spots right now. That, in my opinion, is necessary if you wish to compete.
