Another significant scar added to MK Dons’ growing collection.

MK Dons are reeling from yet another play-off defeat, suffering an unprecedented 8-1 aggregate loss to Crawley Town, marking their sixth play-off without reaching a final.

Nights don’t get much worse than last night’s thrashing. Despite securing fourth place in League Two, the team was unrecognizable, chasing shadows as Crawley dominated. The match at Stadium MK, typically a fortress, witnessed one of its worst defeats since opening in 2007.

Both Alex Gilbey and Mike Williamson admitted the pressure got to the team in the first leg, but the second leg was even more disastrous. Controversial decisions, like starting Filip Marschall over Michael Kelly, fueled fan frustration. A misstep by Gilbey allowed Crawley to score within three minutes, and it only got worse from there, with many fans leaving before the final whistle.

Though Max Dean scored a consolation goal, it barely dented Crawley’s dominance. The performance was so poor that it sparked a mix of anger, disappointment, and disbelief among supporters.

This catastrophic defeat ends the season on a sour note, one the club must quickly learn from and recover, despite the lasting impact it will surely have.
