Jeff Stelling is certain that a “superstar” will sign with Manchester United this summer, so forget about Man City.

Jeff Stelling is certain that this summer, a Premier League player will choose to sign with Manchester United over Manchester City.

With the entrance of INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Manchester United seems to be in for a hectic summer transfer season.

What is the Erik ten Hag and Pep Guardiola connection? Explaining relationship as Man City boss' disciple joins Man United | Sporting News

After a lackluster season thus far, Erik ten Hag’s future is still uncertain.By winning the FA Cup, the Dutchman will have the chance to further his argument for being the one to guide United ahead.

Still, the Red Devils are setting up possible summer targets despite the unpredictability in the dugout.

This season, center defense has been a trouble spot for United, as Lisandro Martinez’s injury problems have shown a deficiency of good depth in that part of the field.

Because of this, the Manchester giants have been linked to a summer raid on Jarrad Branthwaite, who has also surfaced as a Man City target.

Stelling persuaded Branthwaite to join United rather than City.

Jeff Stelling and Ally McCoist spoke about Branthwaite’s future on talkSPORT.

“Fans of Everton exit the room,” Stelling remarked.

McCoist laughed, “I have warned Jeff against this.”

“It’s going to happen; Everton needs the money, and 21-year-old Jarrad Branthwaite is their biggest asset—he’s their most sellable asset,” Stelling said. “I believe he’ll end up at Old Trafford.

“Never mind Man City; I imagine it will be Old Trafford because they need to bring in some youth. I’m thinking £45 million, or something similar, would do the job, with players like Evans, Varane, Lindelof, and Maguire who are all getting older.”

“I think he could play at any level, anywhere,” McCoist said. He is moving in the exact proper path.

Is Branthwaite able to address United’s center-back issue?

In his Premier League debut, the Everton young player has made a strong impression, making 25 games and tallying two goals.

At the age of 21, Branthwaite has already earned the moniker “superstar” and Real Madrid is taking notice.

He was duly called up to the England team by Gareth Southgate this month, and he may be set to make his debut tomorrow against Belgium.

However, there is disagreement about whether he is the best choice for United. Martinez is already a superb left-footed center defender for the Red Devils.

Although Branthwaite plays on the same side as the Argentine, he may provide United some competition and cover, something they haven’t had enough of this year.
