Following Manchester United’s defeat at Manchester City, Michael Owen criticizes Marcus Rashford’s actions.

Many Manchester United supporters began to think that anything may happen in their derby matchup against Manchester City after Marcus Rashford scored a goal of a lifetime.

However, it was Phil Foden, another Manchester native, who made headlines with his brace as Pep Guardiola’s team won 3-1.

The opposition claimed that Kyle Walker had fouled Marcus Rashford during the build-up to Manchester City’s equalizing goal.

As he told Premier League Productions on March 3, 24 at 5:45 p.m., Michael Owen disagreed with those appeals and said he didn’t think it was a foul, but he also believes the £300k-a-week player may have been at fault for Phil Foden’s first goal.

The veteran striker saw his England teammate curl his attempt into the top corner after observing Marcus Rashford “lying on the ground” and taking a long time to stand up.

The Manchester United player, in his opinion, ought to have been far deeper, in his own defensive third, where he might have prevented Phil Foden from receiving the ball and cutting to his left foot.

Phil Foden and Marcus Rashford

Owen stated, “I felt it was appropriate that nothing was given.” “I’m not sure why Marcus Rashford was first racing across his guy. Not only was he not in possession of the ball. The ball is moving away from him, so you must undoubtedly control it before cutting to your guy.

“I don’t think there was anything in it, as far as I, the referee, and most others felt.

Actually, he would have been back here, in the defensive third, in his own half, with the opportunity to cut the ball out prior to Foden’s goal. It’s been about a minute since he lay on the ground.

If he wasn’t laying on the ground, his position would really be third (Man United’s own defensive third) if he was back in. It’s possible that he could have prevented that objective and stopped it right then. It didn’t seem like a foul to me.

Once more, Manchester City takes the glory.

Everyone was expecting this to happen, and it did. For Guardiola and his team, that means three more points toward the championship, but for his rival, it means more suffering.

At this pace, Man City’s neighbors might not even make it to Europe as they strive for yet another potential Treble.

Following those consecutive losses, Aston Villa, in fourth place, currently leads sixth-place Man United by 11 points.

The Old Traffrord-based team is six points behind Wolves in tenth place, and this should cause them great concern as they might now be caught.
