At the conclusion of the 2023–24 season, Sofyan Amrabat will depart from Manchester United, sources have informed Football Insider. Currently on loan from Fiorentina to Old Trafford, the 27-year-old has the option to sign a permanent deal with United this summer.
However, it’s thought that the Red Devils won’t turn his loan into a full-time agreement and have no plans to do so.
After observing Amrabat during the 2023–24 season, a reliable source has informed Football Insider that Man United has determined his style of play is not appropriate for the Premier League.
This season, he has made 22 appearances in all competitions, but he has only played 1155 minutes.
In 13 of those games, the Morocco international has started.
Man United won’t exercise the “£21.4 million” Amrabat option.
This season, Amrabat has mostly served as Erik ten Hag’s defensive midfielder, but he has also filled in at left back.
According to a September 2023 Sky Sports report, Man United paid an £8.5 million loan fee for the 27-year-old and has the option to pay £21.4 million to make the transfer permanent.
During the World Cup in Qatar, the 56-cap international made an impression for Morocco and caught the attention of elite clubs across Europe.
