Klopp and Liverpool set to Miss 10 first-team Players Against Man City.

When Liverpool plays Manchester City today, they might be without up to ten first-team players.

With the intention of taking the Premier League standings back to the top, City travels to Anfield. Having not held the top spot since November, Pep Guardiola’s club is currently one point behind Liverpool heading into today’s match.

Midweek, City defeated FC Copenhagen 3-1 (6-2 on aggregate) to book their place in the Champions League quarterfinals. Only a few days had passed since the Manchester derby victory over Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium.

Due to an injury, Jack Grealish will probably have to miss today’s match for Guardiola. Due to a groin injury, Grealish has missed City’s last two games and is unlikely to be ready to play against Liverpool.

A late fitness test will be required by Jeremy Doku as he works to recuperate from an injury that kept him out of the victory over Copenhagen in midweek. Despite suffering a finger injury on Wednesday, Matheus Nunes is still anticipated to play against Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp is coping with a serious injury situation at Anfield. Darwin Nunez, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Mohamed Salah have all just lately made a comeback from extended absences from the field. However, a few of them have already been eliminated. For the match versus City, Liverpool will be missing Ben Doak, Joel Matip, Ryan Gravenberch, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota, and Thiago Alcantara.

Additionally, Klopp will be hoping for good news on defender Ibrahima Konate’s fitness. Due to a possible muscle problem, the center back was taken off the field early in the second half of Liverpool’s 5-1 victory over Sparta Prague on Thursday night.

On Friday, Klopp said that he was unsure about Konate’s availability for this weekend’s match against City. Before a decision was made, Konate was supposed to have the injury assessed further.

“Ibou [Konate], I don’t know,” Klopp said to the media during his Friday press conference. “Ibou felt he made the right choice at the right time (to go off) and was pretty upbeat yesterday night [Thursday]. Sadly, that doesn’t really signify much. He will undoubtedly be scanned, but I haven’t received the results yet.”
