Slot will ‘arrive’ at Liverpool ‘with the new Messi’ as he makes ‘surprising first transfer request’

According to reports, Feyenoord manager Arne Slot wants to sign midfielder Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras as his first Liverpool manager signing at Anfield.

The Reds eventually decided to name Slot as their new manager despite being linked to moves for Ruben Amorim of Sporting Lisbon and Xabi Alonso of Bayer Leverkusen.

“Arne Slot’s salary and backroom staff have been agreed upon.”
Slot will finally join Liverpool at the end of the season, ending the Reds’ search for a replacement for Jurgen Klopp, Fabrizio Romano said yesterday.

Romano has now made clear how long the deal might last and how much Liverpool will likely have to pay Feyenoord in compensation.

As I reported yesterday, it’s a “here we go” for Slot to Liverpool – he will be coming to Liverpool and he is already receiving all the information about Liverpool players, the status of the squad, and what’s going to be needed for the summer transfer window, the Italian transfer expert wrote in his Caught Offside column.

“So, although I’m still verifying some details regarding the duration of his contract, I’ve been informed that it won’t be extremely long, so I wouldn’t expect something like a five-year contract. Slot has already begun the process of becoming the new manager of Liverpool.” It sounds like it might begin as a brief contract, with the option to extend it later, naturally. As he gets ready to take over as manager of Liverpool, Slot has already reached an agreement on his salary and the personnel in his back office.

To be clear, Liverpool will pay €9 million plus an additional €2 million for Slot. However, they will also invest between €13 and €15 million for the entire backroom staff. This is in addition to the compensation that Liverpool will pay Feyenoord.

It’s almost a given that it will cost roughly €13.5 million, and with some add-ons, that could reach €15 million. Additionally, I’ve heard that Liverpool will pay that amount in a year, and Feyenoord’s acceptance of the deal was influenced by these payment terms.

Thus, everything is set up, the paperwork needed to complete the transaction is being prepared, and Liverpool has already started getting ready for the summer transfer window. Right now, they are only focused on scouting, but they will undoubtedly prioritize signing a center-back, and they are already debating potential targets within the team.
