SADLY: Diogo Jota’s injury is disclosed by Jürgen Klopp

Diogo Jota sustained an injury against Fulham last weekend, and Jürgen Klopp has stated that he will be out for approximately two weeks.

The Portugal international opened Sunday’s 3-1 Premier League victory, and he scored the third goal for the Reds at Craven Cottage in the second half.

Jota will be sidelined temporarily due to a fitness issue that was discovered during a follow-up evaluation.

When asked if there were any new injury concerns at today’s pre-Everton press conference, Klopp replied, “Unfortunately, yes.” After Diogo scored the goal, we discovered that he felt a little bit more.

He will thus be absent for two weeks.

“Aside from that, there are no [new injury concerns].”

Regarding Jota, the manager went on, “To be honest, I can’t really say a lot about it. He felt a slight pain in his hip after receiving a knock prior to the game in which he did not start. That was okay at that point because we hadn’t started him and hadn’t brought him on.

“After that, he began the final game and appeared to be fine. However, towards the end… It’s a minor one, but since the season is almost over, it’s clear that this is not the best time for any kind of injury.

Not a very big one. When I say two weeks, it’s really not that much, but it’s enough to prevent me from being available.

The 244th Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Stanley Park takes place on Wednesday night. This is the second of Klopp’s team’s three consecutive away Premier League games in a week.

The manager was questioned about the benefits of rotating his starting lineup for the match against Fulham and how it has helped the team prepare for their upcoming matches against Everton and West Ham United.

He answered, “We had to do it in this week because the next one is right around the corner and then away at West Ham. We will see what we can do now for this game.”

Nothing firm as of yet. After the game, it’s still quite early. We only have one actual session this afternoon, after which we will make decisions. We’ll arrange the players, and ideally, there will be a lot of new blood on the field.

The rhythm remained the same as Everton performed on Sunday. Though not always in sync, I believe their rhythm was frequently disrupted when they took two or three weeks off, which is also not ideal. Sean Dyche probably wasn’t too fond of that either, as it seems odd to have three weeks without a game in the middle of the season.

“Both teams are having a demanding week going forward. We’ll see.
