Got a war with you'... £7m player says he's now completely against Liverpool this season

Michail Antonio, the striker for West Ham, has reiterated his remarks about actively supporting Liverpool this season.

Antonio and Reds supporters have been at odds for a long time because of remarks he made in September about the team that was not wise.

The 33-year-old said he thought West Ham will finish ahead of Liverpool this season even though the Hammers were scheduled to play at Anfield. Antonio was publicly made fun of on social media following the Reds’ 3-1 victory and his wasted opportunity. The Jamaican international then stated last week that he no longer wanted Liverpool to have a great season as a result of this. Antonio echoed his remarks when he spoke this week on the Footballer’s Football Podcast.

The forward yells, “Listen, I’m saying it with my chest: I do not want Liverpool to win the league!” Do you know why? It is due to their supporters. They have appeared on all of my social media accounts and in my remarks. Since I stated it, it has most likely gotten ten times worse, but I will say it nonetheless. I will not stop fighting with you Liverpool supporters till the end of this season!

“We’re going to start over next season.” However, I’m at war with you, I’m against you, and I want other people to win until this season finishes. I may return to Liverpool the following season because I’ve developed a soft place for you guys over the past few years. However, this season? Nope, we’re not buddies this year.

Co-host of the show Callum Wilson interjects, saying, “I must state that I’m not involved in this.” “Guys, I don’t want no smoke! Do you have to take on Liverpool? Yes, Antonio answers. Wilson asks, “Are you going to be fit?” in jest. Yes, I will be, the West Ham player replies. “Wow, I can’t wait to watch this!”

Antonio intensifies his criticism of Liverpool

By now, it’s obvious that Antonio is laughing a little bit, but it’s also obvious that he means what he says.

The former Nottingham Forest player has clearly turned against the Reds after being singled out by irate Liverpool supporters on the internet.

Most people who support Liverpool won’t be bothered by it. Other gamers don’t need to actively or passively support us.

The one item that Wilson mentions that might be somewhat significant is Liverpool’s April trip to the London Stadium.

It’s also important to remember that on the last day of the season, West Ham plays Manchester City. Antonio still has a chance to influence this if the Reds and Pep Guardiola’s team are still facing off at that point.

What are the chances that the £7 million player would miss a clear cut opportunity and give Liverpool the league title in the closing seconds?

Naturally, the veteran might have the opposite impact and bring City to its knees. That would make a fascinating tale.

That’s all the ifs, buts, and maybes for now. Antonio most definitely does not like Liverpool at the moment. Big guy, don’t worry, things are beginning to feel really mutual.
