Gerrard to rile Klopp with bid for another talented Liverpool ace

Steven Gerrard’s situation at Al Ettifaq is becoming dire, and it appears that the former Liverpool legend will enrage both Jurgen Klopp and his old team by making a bid for a single gifted Reds player.

Both teams’ current trajectories are diametrically opposed to one another.

Ninety minutes separate his team from another Carabao Cup final participation, and Klopp has them comfortably atop the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Gerrard is unable to purchase victory for his Saudi team.

Al Ettifaq trail leaders Al Hilal by an astounding 28 points after just 19 games this season. Furthermore, since October of last year, Gerrard hasn’t led a team to all three points.

Even yet, Demarai Gray’s goal in the 98th minute proved to be the difference between his team and Al-Wehda.

The transfer window will close in two weeks, and then there will be two more weeks until the Saudi League returns and Gerrard’s team takes on Al-Khaleej.

That gives Gerrard plenty of time to bring players in and get them up to speed on the requirements. Perhaps with that in mind, TeamTalk reports that Gerrard is considering a deal for Thiago Alcantara.

The source also mentioned that Flamengo might make a bid if the player can demonstrate his fitness, suggesting that Al Ettifaq aren’t the only team interested in the Spanish-Brazilian.

It might be an exciting few weeks ahead as Klopp is reportedly hoping to hold onto the player despite his ongoing injury issues.
